Go straight to the police before putting up any reward posters. If there is a juvenile department, chances are they'll know, or at least be able to find out, who did it. Delinquent teenagers do that kind of stuff so they can brag about it later. They have ears in the right places. The sooner you talk to the PD the better.

I'm sorry about your buddies fish. But I did have to do a double take when I read the guy trying to defend the Dawn dish liquid haha. Who cares what kind of soap it was? The fact I the story is that someone put soap in his pond and killed his fish. You can NEVER say bad things about Dawn, it can do no harm!! Haha WOW

get the Local animal treatment agencies involved. Killing fish purposely like this is a form of animal cruelty and subject to fines and or jail time

Well it was time to shut it down or move it to the rear yard.I came out onto my porch one day and caught a kid in the act of trying to grab the fish and he was so startled he jumped up and ran out of my yard and into the street where he was just missed by a passing car......

Wow I would have a hard time trying not to beat the crap out of that kid if I found him.
This is also a case of animal cruelty and you probably can do something about it.
