At what temperature are your cichlids most active?

Piece of cake so far. Keeping the temps lower and feeding exclusively NLS. Have the group in a heavily scaped 75 to reduce aggression. Have had all 6 for 3 months with zero losses so far.

Some owners like to keep the temps for their viewing pleasure and some like to keep them near what each species are found in.
I like to keep my fish at or near what they are found in their natural habitat. As close as I can get to at least. My ornatums are at 76 and my daemons are at 84.

I also like to keep fish at the temp of the place they are from, and if there are seasonal changes from rain or snow melt at upper elevation, or hot dry periods, allow for that.
My beani are at about 68-70, and that's the temp they spawned, although in summer it does get warmer.
Uruguayans don't have a heater at all, and their temp is low 60s.
Research on rivers where ornatum are from showed low to mid 70s.
I also find that too warm of temps leave fish vulnerable to fungal and bacterial infections like columnaris which really becomes dangerous at 82'F and above, and prefer to give cichlids a break from breeding, and a slightly lower temp in winter allows for that in many species.

I'm not sure if its applicable to SA/CA's but, in my experience with Africans colors become brighter and more pronounced at higher temperatures. Unfortunately, aggression levels rise also.
