I got off work early so passed by the shop and asked if he planned on a rapps order. he said maybe as he was looking at the wild psittacus. last parrots I believe were Fish Speaker's spawn, which I have 3 and growing quite nicely:thumbsup:.

has anyone been able to truly notice a difference between male and female Fire's(atabapo II)? that's the other reason I held off on telling him get it if he does order.

might divide the 150 for the lents or A1.

The picture of the "atabapo II" that Scat posted is of a female, at least thats the impression that I get. Could be wrong of course. There aren't many pictures of them out there, so its debateable for sure.

Currently, out of everyone that has Crenicichla sp. 'atabapo II', as Rapps is calling it, you have the closest one to an adult Taz. Not many people have grown theirs up to adulthood, nor been able to keep them alive for very long. So props on that account.

It is definitely a great time for Crenicichla, and Cichla, thats for sure. March till June always shows up some great pikes! Best keep your tanks ready for some great fish! Its already shaping up to be a great year! :)

BTW...the lacustris, lents, and both atabapos that Rapps has are all awesome pikes!!! If you guys can get ANY of them, go for it! ;)

Yeah I saw that today that the atabapos were gone. :( I was hoping you were able to score that large female.

Definitely be hoping someone posts pictures up. Tis annoying when people buy cool fish, and then we never see pictures of them. :(

For some reason, I didn't realize that my "fire" was a "II" until I talked to Jon this weekend at the RMCA auction. Mine is about 11" now. It has finally started eating well and growing (even eats massivore), but has gotten HITH again (it had scars from a previous bout when I got it). I hope it recovers again.

I have 2 very compatible "IIs" (no idea on the sexes) that are probably around the 12" mark (will have to try to get an accurate measurement), but they have lots of pitting. All I've been able to do is keep it from progressing, but it's very disappointing to have such big, otherwise healthy fish, and have them disfigured by HITH.

I missed out on the "I" group that Jeff had, since I had a little honeymoon that I just got back from. ;)

i was just over at shark aquarium and i saw several pikes listed as atabapo's... they looked to me like sp. venezuelan. is is possible that stress would make them lose there read color? or is there another atabapo species?

If those are the same ones I seen they are definitly Venz cause first the tank said Lents where in there but I talked to georgevand we both agreed they might of labeled the shipment wrong
