Well I have had blue gill in my tank... lol I didn't have time to mess with them when I caught them a while back, and they have been in my fishtank ever since. Well I have been feeding them well ... blood worms everything these fish could ever want... and I ate them... they were delicious.. I don't know if It was feeding them well or what... But they were the best blue gill ever... It was borderline pet when we took them out and ate him... anyone ever ate their fish lol. If yellow perch didn't look so good... I would of ate him too...

Pretty much every chemical for aquariums has a warning label "not for fish for human consumption" or similar, so hopefully you don't use dechlor or any other chemicals.
