I dont fish, but those that do either release them or fillet them. Id get too attached to a fish I grew out and I have a hard time relating to people who treat them like mere objects.

ive seen a bunch of people on this site who ate their fish. i think one guy ate his midas haha. i just cant do it. not so much cuz they're pets or im attached, but more cuz ive seen what they eat and the messes they make. i know in the wild fish eat similar things but if u actually see it eat the bloodworms it gets kinda gross for me

Do you really think that dechlorinator used in fish tanks build up in the fish and harms you?
Dechlorinator is not made of heavy metals..... its sodium thiosulfate or hydrosulfite salts.... so the excess not used to react with the chlorine/chloramine floating around the aquarium is some salts of sulfur....
Highly unlikely that the fish was the cause of your sickness.

Burt :)

I love how smug people get on this website, Because they have read something online.
In all honesty, it has to be healthier than some of the processed foods we eat. Like those microwavable pizza bites. Its like 30 different chemicals and fillers and nothing even edible except maybee some oregano.
Plus, I mean there cant be a better way to honor a dead fish.

rofl. This just might be one of the best things I've ever read on the internet. lol fish from lakes and rivers are bad enough, you're only supposed to eat like 6-8 of them a month as is....that's priceless.
:ROFL: Where do you live? By a nuclear plant or something? Around here, we have whats called "clean water" because it's snow melt, and you can eat all the fish you want and nothing will happen to you.

You don't need to live next to a nuclear power plant to have polluted water. In any urban or suburban setting there is more likely some pollution in the water from runoff, fertilizer...whatever else gets into the ground water from natural flow or excess rain. Ever wonder why beaches get closed for bacterial contamination or algae blooms aka eutrophication suck the life out of ponds and lakes? :duh:

The original post doesn't say it was dead. And while frozen foods or pretty much anything advertised on tv is full of less desirables, a chemical that specifically says "not for human consumption" on it is no better.
