Hilarious! My father in law used to tell me that my fish were getting to eating size lol
I had a channel cat that ate a porcelain frog ornament and died. he was about 16" long. This happened while I was away but my friend called me and asked if he could eat him. I told him yes and he said it was the best catfish he ever ate. I think it was because it came from clean water instead of a muddy lake. Cant say if he got sick because of it though - he was quite the drunkard and was sick more mornings than a pregnant lady.
As fot the person who said you should nt eat alot of fish - it depends on what fish and where its from. In the California fish and game book there is a warning about lead and PCBs in certain fish, mostly ocean fish i think. Its all a by product of our polluting and the cehmicals building up in fat and organs. I dont think most people eat enough for it to matter.
If I were to eat my fish I think they would have to be deliberately raised for the purpose and i would be very carefull about meds and chemicals.
I do use gromax pellets which is designed for commercial fish farms and includes "growth and appetite enhancing hormones" so I dont think ill eat very much store bought fish either.

Since I am in a university setting I have many international students who come to my place. On more than one occasion I have been told IN MY COUNTRY WE EAT THOSE FISH.

I personally could not eat any of my wet pets for 2 reasons. 1- I am allergic to fish. 2- It just does not sit well in my thoughts to eat a fish that has been brought up in such a closed system. A system that, though has frequent water changes, is still a very small closed system.

edit I seem to see a running theme of drunk people mowing down on pets, please tell me your dog has not gone missing and you can't remember last time you saw it ;)

i dont know how people eat their own pets, i cant.. thats for sure. i give you props. but it sad eatting ur own fish

its like eatting ur time away. the time u spent feed and taking care of it. wow. i know if it dies that a different story..

if u cant get rid of it. give it away. i think someone would take it off ur hand for free. dont eat it!

First of all... I love fish, they're delicious... second. I ate the natives in my tank, so really most people eat them anyways, I just made sure they ate like kings before I mowed them over.... When I bought my female festae, I swore that if she was DOA I would BBQ her.... Off topic.... anyone got any fish free to good home? IM STARVING I still want to eat an oscar....

Im actually trying to rehome some goldfish before I move. 6-9 inches long. According to the commercials "theyre soo delicious!"
