my homie was moving and had to transfer his ATF's to his new house. apparently when he moved them they all went to shock and out of 8 only 1 survived. the water was accumulated properly. can any 1 tell me or know why dis happened? any personal experiences? thanks in advanced

How big were the ATF's? B/c they are very fragile when small, also acclimatising them should be done over a few hours.

do not know, maybe he shouldve like covered the tank in a blanket or something to keep it completely dark

id watch the survivor very closely, he probably suffered shock too, and may simply pass away in a day or two

that is general advice though, what is an ATF?

.well the water was conditioned pretty well..and by the way they were all bout 5 inches or so

Possible a bucket or something used in the move was tainted with something toxic. And the fish reacted. Having them all die but one must of been really tuff to take! They are so expensive also! If the last one dies i would try some regular fish to make sure the tank is safe.

how did he move them. im gonna haft to move my fish from so cal to washigton in a year. im already planing it. im gonna use these big plastic bins and but them in the back ofmy truck withe the lids on. i have a power converter that i will run to the back and that will have a air hook to give them air. im thinking about heating them to but i need to work that out first

could it be from the change in temperature between the bucket and the tank? How did he acclimate them to the tank water?

Huh, lost a bunch of 5"ers? I'm going to have to say that it was either a contaminated bucket or lack of oxygen. Did he provide them air or a pump for circulation? They're usually not difficult to move at that size, done it many times with no problems. Its when they get 12"+ and larger that they are bad about going into shock. Man, what a bummer...:(
