Easier to look through the bottom of the tank..... ;)

I usually wait a day or 2 before even trying to feed. Start with what the mom was eating, and fall back on cut up crawlers if they don't take. The crawlers have to be cut way small, almost minced.

Be careful with drips or big WCs......

Best of luck with the lil buggers!!!

Well looking through the bottom isnt possible, tank sits on a piece of plywood unfortunately ... I've got my fingers crossed that they take pellets right away ... thanks for the pointers :)

Tell me about it Chicx, longest damn pregnancy ever!

2 seem to be larger and more active, the other 2 are a little smaller and seem less active ... all look healthy though, so hopefully they all make it and start eating

Well, all the pups are getting much more active, they look very healthy ... havent really been able to see them eat though, which has me a little worried, but they dont look thin or anything so I'm not going to panic yet

I always put my pups in a floating box so you can sex them and see them eat. Does them no harm and keeps them away from all the fish and adult rays. Never had a problem doing it this way in the past and recently just did it with my Henlei pup for a month until I sold it.

Yup i start them in a bare bottom 50 gallon to make sure they start out good.

If they are super fat or still have yolk sacs they dont start eating right away.

I moved mine into a 40 gallon breeder, right away, thats running on the same filtration as the big tank ... no big fish in there to do them any harm, and they seem healthy and comfortable ... they do seem very full as well, so I'm not too concerned .... yet .... they are very active when I turn out the lights, and move around some during the day, but mostly stay buried when the lights are on ... a few pieces of earthworm did disappear today, just not sure if they ate it or the small datnoid I have with them ate it ... what do you guys normally feed your baby rays if their stubborn? Hopefully when they get hungry enough they'll eat

I start them out with cut up earthworms and dew worms after a couple weeks. Never had any pups really interested in bloodworms and never kept them past 2 months as I just sell them after they are eating good and on a regular basis so I can't say when it's a good time to start pellets.
