Wow.... Them guys are making that 400 look pretty small.

Really digging the not Goliath Tiger. Is that a Vatf or Tatf? To me that's one of the sweetest fish a guy could have. Might even like him better then the Dorado. :)

Thanks guys ... Yes the long slender, and retardedly bent fish is the bambusa ... his growth is rediculous to say the least being as a year ago he was 7 inches and now every bit of 20! Crazy! He is like a puppy dog, no regard to safety when he goes for food ... he's bit my hand, a solo cup while adding conditioner during a water change, and even made the mistake of going for the same pellet as the Armatus and found himself stuck in the Army's mouth! No injuries suffered thank goodness ... one of the most dissapointing things about this vid was the lack of action from the Armatus ... if anything he has become the most voracious eater in the tank, which is both awesome and dangerous at the same time ... he sometimes almost does a back flip when nailing a pellet towards the top of the tank, but he gets confused when a lot of pellets fall at once

The goonches will eventually, hopefully!, be housed with everyone in the future ... they are just a really difficult fish to trust and are so big the risk is too great for right now ... i truly think in a million years the only fish left will be catfish, because they will outcompete every other swimmy fish for food ... these guys are truly amazing, albeit boring for most of the time, but when its feeding time it gets crazy ... they have extremely long streamers, but all adult specimens i've seen dont, so i'm curious to know when they will eventually fall of, they are getting really long, prob about 10 inches on the one, wish i had that kind of length! Haha :P

I believe the non-goliath in my tank is a VATF, although not positive ... he has that classic football shape and snub nose, not to mention the color, but i havent kept up with my ATF ID threads so i dont want to say 100%, and i havent counted lateral line scales, but i'll say 97% ... plus i trust G at sharkaquarium and thats where i got him listed as a VATF ... i agree he is a stunner, and i love him ... so much more bold and tank friendly than the Goliaths, and beautiful colors to match, and a more manageable max size ... wish i had a video 2 yrs ago when i introduced Dorado for the first time, and the two of them fought so aggressivly, spinning in the tightest tornado circles all over the tank, was just crazy! And terrifying at the time, to say the least ...

Also, dont hold it against me that the fish are a little dinged up ... they dont do well when i have to clean the inside of the acrylic, especially the Goliaths .... they hate the windshield thing i use and really freak out bad, but to get a good vid, cant have that layer of slime on the inside ... on the walk around vid, the back of the tank is difficult to see through because of this slime layer, probably a bacterial film ... also forgot to mention the Army grazed the tarpons back end the other day eating a pellet and had a tarpon scale stuck on one of his big teeth ... tarpon didnt flinch, but the Army freaked trying to get the huge nickle sized scale off his tooth, was kind of funny, but also a stern reminder of how dangerous feeding near the Armatus can be

Thanks dude! You should attempt pellet training, although my tigers werent pellet trained for almost 2 yrs ... in hind sight i wish i did it sooner cause i'm sure they would be bigger now ... in my opinion its the healthiest and easiest staple food ... throwing in some live or frozen every once and a while satisfies my need for carnage!, otherwise all pellets

To be honest i dont know how he got so bent ... he went through the ringer when i got him, tank switches because he was too small etc, and he is reckless when going for food, but he doesnt swim into things ... he's def not as nifty of a swimmer especially in current as the others, he's a bit wobbly but he never slammed into anything that i know of ... and it wasnt an instant, one day oh my goodness he's bent, it was more of a as he grew he got bent ... also he eats so many pellets so fast that they lodge just under the gills making it look worse than it is, but who knows ... he's like me apetite is way bigger than his stomach ... i had to stop feeding carnivore sticos because he would put 30 in his mouth, crush them up, and spread debris all over the tank, which was annoying because my big goliath loved the carnivore sticks and it was a way for me to feed him more, and not feed the other fish ... i figure with time it will get better, much like his gill curl ... i was contemplating cutting the bambusa gill around the same time chicx was cutting max's dorsal fin, but decided against it, and i'm glad i did because his gill has flattenned out since and looks much more normal ... i'm hoping his body curve does the same ... thanks for the kind words man, to be honest i feel like i made some smart decisions, but ultimately a lot of good luck, and some fish losses by trial and error have got me to this point ... and i do realize any day things could go really wrong, but for now i just enjoy! I really have to give a lot of credit to the tarpon and bambusa as well for this tanks stability

DJ, for you non-GATF, ID is easy. Don't count all of the lateral line scales; count between the lateral line and the pelvic fin (the paired fins directly below the dorsal) insertion point. If it's vittatus, there will be two. If it's tanzaniae, there will be three. Immediately after feeding would probably be the easiest time to tell.
