ATF ID PLEASE!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
tail coloration and shape and mouth shape tells me it's a H.vittatus.
But then again, I know Hydrolycus way better than Hydrocynus.

Thanks for the ID West. I agree with you. If i known it was a Forskhalli then i wouldntt buy it from All Happy. Now im stuck with a vittatus wannabe fish. :(. Its so hard to find a true Vittatus now days. Do you know the aggression between the two vatf and fatf. Are they both the same ferocious fish?

From what I can tell it looks slenderer and the snout shape is different than Vittatus. But that could be the pic angle. It appears to have an under bite. How large is it currently?

See my Vittatus from the Congo here....

Thanks for sharing the pictures. I could see the difference between the two. Mine is slimmer and tails not thick. I love the look of the the vittatus over forskalli. You have a beast! Currently mine is 6 inches.

its actually a pretty nice fish, pretty rare, and doesn't get as big. looks almost just like a vittatus, and the fins actually look longer on these fish. should collect all 4 species available to us and keep them together., one time i had all 4, then my other fish ate some of the prized ones...
