My lfs has 2 ( what i think to be atf ) for sale as fw baracudas. They are 20$ and have a red fin. It looks like a gatf

Can anyone show me how to tell the difference?

The "barracudas" have much finer scales

for 20 bucks and if it is a true ATF I'd set up a new tank.................!!!!:grinno:

Lol :) they have a gar there to but i think its an aligator for 20$ or 24 i forget i was thinking it was a tropical than slapped myself and said nahhh.

My parents wont let me get anymore tanks lol.

Atfs get large, hujetas (the most common FW "barracuda") seldom get bigger than 9", here is a pic from O-fish.

Nah there head at the store looks more like this > and straight. Im leaning towards either red tailed cuda or the atf.

As Guppy said Ctenolucius hujeta are sold a FW barracuda and so are Acestrorhynchus falcirostris I have had these fish also AFT. I had 3 ATF in a 6x2x2 and this was no way big enough for them on there own. They move so fast one smashed his face in on the end of the tank going for a peace of white bait. I loved my Acestrorhynchus falcirostris very cool fish take a look at this
