i will be purchasing a 7ft by 2 ft or an 8ft by 3 ft, i was wondering what sort of atf i could house in this tank.

If it's 8x3 then all except for gatf. If it's a 7x2 then none.

Keep in mind these are extremely fast swimming fish so they can go from one side of the tank to the other in the blink of an eye. Go as large as you can.

Adding some power heads and wavemaker a will help the ATFs to "feel" that the tank is larger.

If you are getting them at juvenile size, the dimensions you mentioned will be good for a long long time - they don't grow that fast upon hitting 12-16 inches. :)

i believe in the sticky a forskahlii can be in a 180 so it thought a 7x2x2 would be fine for one. i may be able to go 8x3

It's just hard to ID them at small sizes, if you can find one and are positive of ID go for it

Edit: on second thought, didn't vincentwugwg vincentwugwg have like an 18" one? In this case don't go for it

yes he would and 8 by 3 is the best i can do . it would be sumped and high flow with wave makers etc

Can u elaborate as to what he will be stocked with?

My 11-12 inch vatf is in a 270 6x3x2 with about 6000 gph of flow thats including both powerheads and returns and he seems to be doing well......for the time being at least lol
