ATF's favorite non-live food?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Oh, that's bad. Don't be feeding him live because he has no incentive to eat anything else. Why eat your vegetables if you can get you ice cream if you wait long enough...... My GATF went almost 2 weeks without eating before he took non live. They are the most stubborn. My VATF ate after maybe 3-4 days.

OK, so I'm right on target then. I guess I'll stretch the time periods out soon and see if he'll go for the filets and food sticks. He does show interest, so that's hopefully a good sign. Thanks all for the advice.

My Vittatus loved his Massivore.

i'd be trying hikari sinking carnivore pellets, then massivores.... i'll bet your fish could go quite a while without eating, a week would be no problem, even 2 probably, but watch him.... if his behavior changes, or he seems delerious during the starving process, then give him whatever he will eat to get his belly full then try again.... the sooner you try pellets the quicker he'll go, the longer you wait and feed other foods the harder he will be to break later.... also try the pellets, if he ignores, wait 2-3 days before trying again, so he's nice and hungry, you may get an instinctive hit... .also if he mouths them, he will eat them eventually without a doubt

Sounds good to me, I'll let him finish out this batch of guppies and then really test him and see if he'll go for the non-live this time. I was going probably 3 days between the time he filled up on feeders before restocking his supply before, I'll stretch it out to more like 6 this time as long as he doesn't start acting odd.
