just stop with the shrimp altogether and go straight with the pellet. Just starving it also works when my silver was 4" is just waited about 5 days tried pellets and it got addicted to the hjikari aro sticks.
i tried sticky a tiny piece of maashed shrimp onto the massivore pellet.
and put it in, the RTG eats it up! but after 3 of them with a tiny shrimp stuck to it, it doesnt want it anymore.
the 1.5 red also ate the first piece with the tiny shrimp stuck to it, but spatout the next two
i think im making progress, i hvae never gottent hem to eat any pellet before at all
starve and try with hikari aro sticks first. They like them better and once they're used to pellets/food sticks, they'll go for the massivores right after you drop em in without even thinking.
It was strange to read about difficulty of making an aro accept pellets. My new puny black, HBRTG and green took to pellets straightaway - alas they are all day anyway, for other reasons.
The remaining x-back eats floating sticks with no battle of wills necessary. red and blue (larger at foot plus) still refuse to eat pellets - take them, spit them out, take them again, spit them out again - quiete annoying actually. this is the first battle of the wills that i ever had to do (but i never got so large aros before either).
my silvers took to pellets from very young age, same for the jar and paimas.
i started my silver aro off with crickets, and they float and are 100% no contaminant in the tank, and if u want like i do now if i converted to hikari pellets the largest ones and they float like the crickets so my aro thinks its it and has got a liking for them and eats them with out fail
im working on massivore pellets.
its alot of effort and hassle to turn off the pump everytime, i really dont like that, and also i find the massivore to be containing more goodies than aro pellets. massivore is basically aro pellets with more punch.
but it sok
i am making progress
worse come to worse if i lose this battle again, ill just stuff the shrimp...
