Attempting an All Male Peacock Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here's a pic of my rockwork. I'm not sure I like the placement of the 3 main rocks. I might move the 2 rocks on the right further to the right and closer together leaving the middle open. Then I'll put a couple small pieces of THR (tennis ball sized) in the middle.

Thoughts?

Sorry about the crappy pic.

Looking great!

If you moved the rocks to the right and left the middle open, it'd be a good area for them to cruise and sift sand, but it is one less territory for a dominant fish to call home. Either way... it's a great setup. See what works out. :)

Can I mix a male Albino Ruby Red with a regular Ruby Red in my all-male tank? I've heard that as long as no 2 peacocks look the same, you should be fine, but can't find anything that talks about mixing males of the same species where one is Albino.

Great looking holey rock! You might consider moving the middle and piece on the right (while facing) together on the other side as your big piece for more swimming room. Its really whatever you like.

Great minds think alike. :D

That's what I did 2 days ago when I added the Albino Ruby Red. I stacked the rock on the right on top of the rock in the middle and then move that to the right. So now the right side of the tank looks like the left. The middle just has a few small holey rocks (no taller than 4"). With the middle being open, it helps enjoy the beauty of the fish without any distractions from the rocks.
