All said and done the possibel worst aro temperament is the tankmate killer :swear:

My silver is pretty mellow, it really dosent jump but hits it's krill real hard though...WHAM...wouldn't want to get any of my digits (fingers) involved in that...ouchie!!

on my tank i have perspex covers plus my tank hood is very heavy with loc into place hinges so no probs with jumping when i had my green.

mouse, small birds, lizards, skinks, my aros eat all of that alright! i put heavy books on top of my tank bros, aros are indeed insane!

I have my lid closed all the time and I made a little swinging bracket on each end of the glass lid. Each time when I have to open one of the 3lids I have to swivel two of these alumium bracket that were mounted. When I have time I'll scap some shot to show.

I just have glass covers on the top 4 covers each with 8mm glass that is 90cm X 75cm, nothing will push that up in my tank.

My 20" silver loves to jump during the night. I have 3 plexiglass tops that cover the back 2/3 of the tank and a very heavy sealed canopy. Plexiglass is to ensure he cannot break the lights! I also have some heavy decor ontop the back of the canopy. He sure can still get quite a bit of water onto the floor, but he'll never jump out. :D

aro proofing is only for the small arowanas......for small arowanas its okay to put bricks or what you want on top...but adults are much stronger than couple of bricks on top of your top...if they want to jump, they will jump...

i lost a black a while back to jumping ,, i had glass lids ,,,,,,, it actually flew out of the gap in the corner where the filter intake pipe goes into the tank ,,, this gap is now stuffed with filter floss as i dont want to lose my red arow to the same gap,
