As you all know, aros are great jumpers and great escape artists. So as a precaution, aro owners must make sure that their tank lids are tight and aro proof.
SO heres the question: What do you do or use to keep the tank aro proof??

Ill start... I put half gallon milk containers filled with water on my lid so that its nice and heavy ( graduated from chinese take out tupperware). I also ductape the small holes and spaces in the back and i put plastic plants on parts of the glass lid to make the arowana feel more secure.

i never had a cover with my aro
the only time i cover the holes he jumped out(night of the famous blackout)

Yeah, mine is a little skittish yet. It only jumps if I dont leave a light on at night. I use a little candle type christmas light to keep it happy. anyone else do this?

LOL Sandbags... But bricks are definitely aro proof.

Zach - not having a lid on a aro is playing with fire  !!!

i do like to live on the edge..

i dont keep arow's anymore

theres alot of anti-mammalian-diet people out there, who claim that mammalian fats are not properly digested by fish and can be harmful long-term.. but I've yet to see any serious proof of it. That doesn't make it an invalid argument in my book though; it does sound reasonable to me.
