Attention Jag Owners

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
mine hides a good amount but when she sees me she comes out and swims against the glass wanting food she swims plenty and won't think twice about pushing others out of here way what ever cave she does wan't to hide in she gets

i've seen plenty of males that are very interactive i've seen several large fish that are very aggressive twords people and swim non stop to try a scare off people by there territory

ALL IN ALL very good fish to keep single or to try with others if you wan't a less common cichlid with just as much personality and color i would STRONGLY suggest keeping one of the parachromis species all are very interesting i you don't wan't a huge fish then skip dovii but loisellie and motaguense are very nice fish go with a red tiger mota for red or you can't beat the yellow of loisellie

Mine don't hide. But then again theres only 3 pvc tees in the tank for hides.

Mine's always out in the open begging for food, digging, doing laps around the tank and he lives by himself.

4-5 new 125's? Man that rocks are you serious? Sounds like a fun (and grueling lol) project. Can't say I blame you for wanting to specialize in Parachromis since they are my favorite genus.

And Onion you're getting a 300g? Kick A--.

:headbang2

Oh yes I am serious. I am selling my Chevy S-10 for around $1700 which I think would be enough for all used equipment and tanks. I am going to run all of the tanks on 2 100gallon rubber maids and since it is going to be in my laundry room helloooo drip system! I will also have a three stage Uv sterilization on the output of the sumps. I am going to buy one of those steel storage racks they have at home depot and just put 1x6" running across the 4 cross members that will hold the tanks. It will be awesome once I get started. I can't wait. Hopefull I can do 4 125's but we will see.

onion and balton sitting in a tree K-I-S-S-I-N-G..... ok thats enough LOL

Thanks guys, I think I might give a jag another whirl. Maybe buy a few different species with him to grow out with, then pick and choose the manly's one of all LOL nothing like onion and balton in the tree hahahahah jk

Thanks

You will notice all my threads about different speicies. Most of you know I had a lot of tanks before with a lot of different species and sold it all away thinking I had to because the house I was moving into, then the house plans changed and we bought a different house which actually only helps my addiction because there is a huge concrete slab basement which is screaming to be filled with tanks. Now I only have my two tanks that I kept and I bought two new 75's. I have kept every common cichlid under the moon and am trying to do something different.

I have kept 16 Discus in a 125 gallon, breeding jags, Cons (who hasn't), 3 Oscars, GT, Many RD, Trimac(still own), FM (too small), JD, butti and probably some more that I can't remember. Anyways I am itching for something new and exciting but all other cichlids I need to order from the US and they don't cost an arm and a leg, they cost a kidney and a lung.

Sorry just thinking out loud again

Have you seen Jumbo? search it on youtube.....i have 2 jags and love them, mine glide around the water and then pounce at one of the cons or something. have a great personality when bigger. but if you want a fish always swimming i would go for a green terror.
plus are you goingto have a solo or community tank?

mine has no targets really just patrols his tank now and then, not to much decor so he out most of the time.

If you want something truly different and spectacular one of the Festae posts a couple days back had a picture of what they called a Manaconda (Festae x Managuense) This is one incredible fish and I want one BAD!!! I know its a cross but if I could find one (good luck) That is what I would go with.
