I just did more search. I believe my guess may be right. They Rio Tapajos are the "temensis type" I believe they are the ones referred to as Cichla sp. Lower Amazonas. Similar to my Rio Tocatins Cichla.
Hey devon are you getting the Cichla from 'Tropical Imports.co.uk' I recognise the species description and the pricing; i took delivery of 2 of them about 2 weeks ago along with a Lima shovelnose(pics below); I like you posted on here and a few other sites about their identity all came back Temensis.....they look better in person, and boy are they hungry....

heres a few shots of one of my favorite pbass...he is a plain jane farm bred monoculus..now at 22" and fat as a football...with personallity to boot!!! so everyone out there with baby farmboy monocs...heres what you'll have in a year and a half with good feeding and of course there are some other pics of the ocellaris crew and guests
You can see on one or two where the Gar has snatched them up!! All three Larry Curly and Moe after two 1" to 2" feeders !! LOL Boy that hist more than the spot !! lol
