I just got my 180 over the weekend. I am mainly using this tank for my polypterus. I live in a house with a couple other people and am setting the tank up in a living room and want to put some good looking fish in there (I think the polypterus are awesome, but not everyone agrees). I am almost def getting a pearl aro and for other tank mates I was thinking a green terror, Urau, blood parrot or gold severum. I could really use some in put on some possible good looking fish to spice the tank up. Thanks for the help

I like dats. They'd look cool in there.

some top to mid dwelling tankmates suggestions for polypterus are arowanas, datnoids, peacock bass, characins (red hooks, black barred silver dollars, flagtail prochilodus, odoe african pike) and some peaceful cichlids like discus and uarus ;)

Depending on the size of your poly I would try some clown loaches too. They are the best fish ever and very attractive as well :naughty:

Fine but definitely NOT peacock bass. Too big; too aggressive... too big. Pikes can be too agressive too IMO. Thumbs up.

i would stay away from the big mean cichlids as in that tank it will only agrivate you

silver dollars would be a good choice and people always think they are pirana

You could try some of the larger rainbow fish. They get real deep bodied when bigger and your birchirs would have a hard time eating them and catching them. Plus you can choose from a wide array of colors.

Not monster or anything, but quite attractive.

uarus a re a good choice along with dats. if you want to keep an aro with other fish i would stay away from a jardini though

i think u should let them decide what they think is "good looking". just make sure they wont be problems though.
