we will find a hotel...

the only way to bring fish back is by cargo... delta cargo ... any big fish will not do well shipping...

you need a rod case...

No Cichla will survive! So don't even think about bringing any cichla you catch. After hooking them just transporting them is enough to kill them.

If you plan to bring back fish the best bet for fish that can be shipped is Jags, Mayans, Midas and Tilipias.

Only reason I was able to bring some back was because:

1.) I am experienced in shipping and packing big fish
2.) The fish I took back were not freshly caught. They were given to me after being kept in tanks for a month or so.
3.) The fish I shipped back were only 10" and below. 95% of the Cichla you catch there is in the 12"+++ range. Bad bad bad shippers.

So do the Cichla a favor and catch and release them.

SOunds good....I think Ill open a bed and breakfast for when you guys come down...lol, help fund the cichla feedings...lol.

Hell My friend here lost a cichla just being in a bag for 30 mins while he was moving stuff from tank to tank.

Wow picky cichla. Never lost a cichla in a bag, and I've shipped before but I get what you're saying. Not to derail. Good info though. :)

If you want cichla they MUST be in the 5-6 inch range if you even want any kind of success in shipping them. Aug sounds good for fishing ....but when isnt it in fl ....
