Well it's the newest breeding group to go. Went down to feed and my beautiful show grade male Aul. Lwanda jumped out of the tank during the night. Another breeding group down. 6 more breeding groups left out of more than 20 I had before the drilling started. It's ashame, I had never really even seen that male in good light but boy did he have beautiful color. I knew right when I turned the corner which one it was laying on the floor. Thought it might still be alive it was so shiny. He was stiff though. This last two weeks is almost enough to make me get out of the hobby all together.:(

Maybe get some tops for your tanks? That would solve the jumping problem.

wow-thats horrible! im sorry for you loss. i have had a rough week also, had to get rid of my Venustus (my favorite fish) and now my beautiful male fryeri is having problems..

hope things get better for you! keep your chin up!

yeah, like mike said-this hobby can be stressful and heartbreaking but dont give up! there is a huge learning curve when caring for live animals, and death is a natural part of it all.. youre doing the best you can, just get some lids, or something heavy on the lids to keep them down..

we are all here to help give advice and coach eachother along, and will help you as much as we can!

Sorry to hear all that. Damn. Go to the local glass shop and get them cut. Should'nt cost as much as the fish you have lost. Get a few as you can afford them. Just a thought.

Jhutch.... you have been going through a really bad patch. I remember your water/gas trouble and I can feel how pissing off it must have been for you! But like everybody is saying... I think you should just hang on and wish the bad time passes by soon.
A month back, I almost sold off all my tanks and everything related to fish keeping due to some issues. But I'm glad I called off the deal at the last moment and still feel much better looking at my fish rather than an empty house!

As for the tank cover, you could try buying some cheap mosquito net sort of stuff and cut pieces in size to cover your tanks temporarily. Not too sure if that's a viable solution, but just came to my mind.
