Jhutch, do what I did, get the lady a nice camera for her hobby, and then encourage her to take fish pictures too. Then assign her to take pictures of your fish. This way they do all the work pictures, and you take the fun ones. They also enjoy it..

Mike I just spent $1150.00 on a nice Cannon camera. If he hadn't been moving the pic would have been real nice. The camera takes awesome shots.

what did you get, I bought the Cannon 40D, myself

I got the digital rebel with a $500 lens. Works pretty good. I was going to get a 40D myself but my older brother said the rebel is just as good and the only difference is a bunch of options I would never use so I didn't see the point in paying $1100 for something I didn't need. He has a 30D and my rebel takes better pics than his and he payed $1400 for it with no lens.

I am pretty familiar with all those cameras. The 30D should be able to take pretty nice pictures. My father n law uses it for taking wedding photos. The rebels are nice as three of my family members have them, but the upgrade to the 30 is nice. The 40D is even better.
