Auprensis Catfish Update!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Coolest cats ever ( along with Pacmans ). All three species are out if this world.

I tried for years to get one, with no luck, however.
Enjoy that rarity!

I agree! These are my next project as well. Those are unheard of to find locally in my area. I have never seen them in a shop around here. Every time I go to pull the trigger and order some online *boom* they are gone right after they are listed. I would love to get a nice pack of these guys!

IME, they can be combined in a very large enclosure. Mine three at ~1'+ have been semi-ok in a 4000 gal. Nothing more than tattered fins. But in smaller tanks, they will fight to death. The opposite of pacmans.

One of my favorite catfishes. How big is your jelly cat and how long did it take for him to grow to that size? It's nice that yours is playing well with his tankmates. Mine's alone in his tank. Evil Incarnate. He's eaten a bumblebee oscar, a red jewel, and a huge black veil angel fish when he was about 6 inches. He's a foot long now after 3 months and just recently, i tried adding in a huge watermelon panaque to see if it would work out.....nope...not a chance. I transferred the pleco after i saw them bulldoze each other. Now i've pretty much accepted the fact that i own an evil brute....but i love him for it haha something about them that's really endearing. They eat a lot....eat whatever...and are pretty goddamn smart in my observations hehe.

Here's beavis, my c.apurensis

Beautiful cat. I had three of them sold them some years ago to a younger cousin. Total eating machines. I will post some pictures up and videos.
