I wonder what the people who stole it were thinking. It's not like you can display a giant stolen artifact, and no one's going to buy it. But it wasn't simple vandalism either- it would have been much easier to just damage or destroy the sign and leave the remnants in place.

unbelievable. that sign was one of the best known symbols of the evils of the holocaust and nazi germany.

I hope they catch them and retrieve the sign.

Hmm,who ever did this must have some financial motivation.If some nut can attempt to purchase human remains then anything is fair game.

yup. from the article it is clear that this was a well planned and well executed theft.

no doubt some collector paid big money to fund the theft, and will pay big money upon recieving the actual sign..
