gafish are easy to get (they were any way). years ago we went to one of the damns near strathpine and catch 50 or so on a ishin rod. since the drought we never even catch 1 fish.

i doubt we have a shovelnose cat native to au. we have shovelnose sharks but they are saltwater.
99.9% sure we have shovel nosed species. Juist because its shovelnose doesnt mean its related to the SA ones or anything. From the pic i saw they look like a salmon tail cat with a flat head.

Anyone know if privately shipped stuff like that is as scrutinized as big shipment from wholesalers ect? I know its abit wrong but as i said before i think its a joke any fish are illegal. If Reptile guys can can import and keep rare snakes and stuff i can have rare fish.
