I was waiting for you to come online. I noticed you were a member on Aussie fish forum or something or rather.

I wanna catch a shovelnose shark. Got any tips for that?

Shovel Nose Ray, they arent sharks. Shark species have gills on the side of them, Rays have gills on the underside of the body.

EDIT: I forgot to add tips lol.

Pretty much just fish for rays, a standard rig, heavy line 25kg+ if your fishing in deeeeeep water. Bait can be anything really, me and a mate used to go ray fishing every weekend, caught 8 Sand rays and 2 Shovel rays with Big prawns and pillies. but since your probably going out on a reef, go for the better species .

I'll be using 50lbs handline for sharks me thinks... Will I catch any in deep water?

Sharks are good fun to catch, I've only ever got two mind you, but they were fun. lol. I think I got them with prawns? lol.

I reckon you should catch a fish for bait first, so it's fresh, kill it, punch a couple holes in it for blood to come out and use it as bait. 8D

I'd probably be using some sort of trace line too.

Yes there is also mosquito fish in there, my thinking is, I'm getting rid of a few mosquito fish, while giving my fish a free feed.
