These juvies don't seem to be paying any mind to neons, just really hyper active and spook some of the pristilla's with their fast swimming. If the pristilla's do dash the perch will often chase after them but I think it's just a "get to the food first" reaction coz once the other fish stops the JP's just cruise off, no nips.

I think they are more of a surface feeder. The 1" guy in my tank has wiped out the baby guppies and is pretty aggressive in getting to the bloodworms. Quite happy to muscle in with 6" rainbows at feeding time. I wouldn't trust a bigger jungle perch with anything small enough to fit into their mouths, they will hit a decent sized lure when you're fishing for them.

they sound pretty cool. ive wanted them although dont have the space for them all my other tanks have things that will kill them or are full.

yeh i know bout the tilapia. i caught another one the other day. it was pitch dark and i decided to go netting. only fish i caught. i think the other is a mariae.
