Australian Arowana(Jardini)

Let's talk about Jardi!
I have a jadini about 8in.my jardini's tankmates are 4pcs Temporalis,1pc Malysian Tinfoil,2pcs featherfin catfish. What other tankmates do u have w/ur jardini?

FROM MY EXPERIENCE WITH THEM THEY WOULD ALWAYS KILL THEIR TANK MATES AS THEY GET LARGER THEY SEEM TO LIKE SOLITUDE.GOOD LUCK DONT .

Jardinis are great fish. A lot of my friends keep them with giant gouramis and other australian natives such as barramundi.

What future plans do you have for yours??

i bought mine at 4"
grew it till 9"
then i saw it bite my rays tail and frt.

so i put the aro. with my bigger rays
and my 13" leo stung it.
it was surffing so i put it in a frezzer.

i like slivers or blacks better, because they are more peaceful.

Mean Mo-Fo's.. Truly. The Asian cats I used to hang around before I moved all kept Jardines until they coukd get the red Asians. And all their Jardines were mean as heck. Kill plecos....bite the heater......mean mean mean :


But...they are very hardy.
Not a bad trade off if you ask me

I have a 7" jardini w/ a florida gar and an ornate bichir about the same size he's just starting to show his mean streak.

Some jardini arent too bad though. Ive seen plenty of jardini that will tolerate tankmates.

I'm keeping mine with other big asia greens and a big silver as well in the monstern tank.

stve89 my fture plan is to add a poleni and more ornate bichir,but can't buy right now ornate here in Philippines are expensive; ) my Jardini always bites my malaysian tinfoil so i put the tinfoil intha piranhas; ) ANY FILIPINO HERE TO SHARE THEIR IDEAS w/JARDINI???

Every Jardini is diffrent in temperment.. I think if you keep em with tankmates from when there Juvies you'll have better luck with keeping them with tankmates as they get bigger.
