I want one. Like...bad.
My boyfriend almost bought me one. We found a place a little while away that sold them and were totally set to go pick one up but we came across a sick Chinese/Green WD and took him home. He took the Aussie's place. He did a little better in the time we had him, his jaw hardened up a bit but his MBD just got worse and worse despite everything we did and he died recently.
I still really want an Aussie but I want to wait till we don't have to share a house with druggy retards before we get one.
Aussies are so freaking gorgeous. Dragons in general. :grinyes:

The same thing happened to me. A pets store had a Chinese Water Dragon that looked really bad and I asked them to give it to me because no one would buy it and it was gonna die. He started to get better but after a month he died. He or she had MBD too.

Yeah, our guy was a freebie from PetSmart. When we got him a bunch of his digits were crooked (and stayed that way) and is lower jaw was like mush when you touched it.
The jaw hardened up and he seemed to do well for a few months but after a while he started going downhill again, fast, and despite suppliments, proper lighting and vet visits, etc he just couldn't get better. :(

Yes I have seen the Chinese Water Dragon in really bad conditions too, that really sucks watching these shopkeepers not caring for them and just wanting money.

I would apply that to some of the more herp focused shops. I had gone to one that had just opened in the Chatsworth area and not a few months later...well it was just disgusting. Boasting stock from LLLReptiles they were trying to sell MHD's with missing tails and fingers which looked infected, some of their terribly expensive monitors (blue and black) were in sick shape and the entire place stunk of a dead animal. I knew which too, the flies were all over that poor MHD enclosure. :angryfire
Stuff like that just enfuriates me.
On the other hand there was a place a ways down the street that doubled as a herp/fish shop and they had one of the most beautiful A. capra I'd ever seen and other wonderfully healthy herps.
