Australoheros n. sp. "Canada El Sauce"

Sorry - super busy today but will post tomorrow!

Yes - just about every body of water in Uruguay has a chanchito...and one that's different than nearly every other body of water. They range in size from foot-long-butt kickers (A. facetum-types) to A. scitulus-types that max out at 4" or so. And everything in between.

Here are some pictures of the Arroyo Viagia in Cerro Largo, Uruguay...

It's a stream that empties into the Rio Yaguaron and is parallel to the Arroyo Ceibal (home of the Red Ceibal Chanchito that's available in the hobby).

Also a pic of one of the Gymnogeos found there...

Oh yeah, the chanchito found there...and a guy (and his dogs) who was coming back from Brazil with some supplies (he turned out to be that father of the wife of the couple who was hosting us)...

Are they the same as sp. "Red Ceibal"? Who knows. They do look different than the ones in the hobby, though.View attachment 809215View attachment 809216View attachment 809217View attachment 809218

None of the pictures in this post work for me. :( The post above it was fine, though.
