Australoheros oblongum Pics - By far the coolest fish I own!

Are you sure those are oblongums? I thought oblongums were supposed to look like the fish in the 1st pic below. Yours look like red ceibals, the fish in the 2nd pic below.
Both are australoheros... but to me, yours defnitely look more like red ceibals, in my opinion.

Haha, the first pictured fish is actually one of the parents of the fish I have, originally from Chong Kwang. He sold some to Todd Appel who I bought mine from. That is their spawning color under blueish florescent lights.
Red ceibals look very similar to Oblongum during breeding, but are larger and much more agressive. Oblungum are smaller and more docile.

Ah... okay. Wow... I always knew they were similar in appearance... but not THAT similar! LOL... well, that is super pair you have there, man!

Mine originally also camr from Chong a couple years ago. I think most of the Oblongums out today were from him.
They show a variety of colors depending on mood, aggressive, courting, breeding, etc.
They show alot more blues than ceibals. When breeding they get very dark and do resemble Ceibals more
