Received 6 ~3" WC individuals about a month ago. After some conditioning (=stuffing), I moved them into a 55g a week ago. One pair immediately formed, and later a second pair. They each took over one side of the tank, with the two "extras" stuck in the middle. Well, and a pair of orangeheads holding their own fry....but that's another story
Walked up to the tank this morning and saw a big clutch of eggs on a river rock, and a pair of red ceibals guarding the eggs. Both are in beautiful breeding dress.
There is a piece of driftwood and tons of floating plants above the eggs. I read that the parents may hang the wigglers on plants or dw... I guess we'll see in the next few days.
How long would it take for the eggs to hatch, and anything I should/shouldn't do? Any advice and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
