I would just do a good water change and leave it. Most tropical fish can go on the upper end of 2 weeks with no food.

If you decide to with a feeder, I would go this one. The compartments are better than the drum style IMO because there's no chance of the whole drum getting dumped in on accident. It sounds unlikely, but it happened to me once.

thats what i use on my cichlid tank, but i have t use two since the pellets are so big, but a really good feeder, now they need one to release live feeder fish into the tank, that would be better than trying to catch those b@$%$#d's:ROFL:

I have used feeders for years. The Eheim models work great for flakes and small (but not tiny) pellets. I use them several times a year when I'm going to be out of town for more than a few days.

The third model in the pics works fine too but needs to be plugged in (good and bad things there). The link that cassharper posted is a good one too. Right now, though, I've gotten rid of everything but the Eheims.

The quality of the eheims is the best, but I just don't like the style of the drums as much as separate compartments. It only takes once of those doors on the drum sliding all the way open to see how it could be a problem...

That is true...... It can happen with the small NLS pellets easily-- tough to set it right for those small particles.

I'm using the Eheim single that you posted and I'm feeding 2mm pellets. Only have to fill it once a week on my 220G cichlid tank. I have also used 1mm & 3mm pellets in it without a problem. It does take some adjustment of the door to get the correct amount to dispense. I have it set to dispense food four times daily. I am very pleased with this model feeder and have never had a problem with it.

Just make sure that whatever auto feeder you decide on, use it for at least a few days before you go so that you can tweak the settings AND make sure that it operates properly.
