Sorry for your loss. Were you able to remove to hard mass? Or was it attached to the wall of the stomach?
 
Ill have to ask but I believe the hard mass was the wall of the lower stomach/intestine.

I wouldn't know what was going on in there. Plus I don't know if I could carve up one of my pets. That ray and I have a history. She almost died shortly after I got her. I said something about an autopsy to my dad and he insisted he'd do it. He said everything appeared fine except that hard swollen chunk he was pointing to. She did exhibit diminished appetite 2 weeks prior to giving birth and never really got it back.

Just when you think things can't get any worse...

"Kitty" will definetly be missed. She used to come up out of the pond agaìnst an egg grate divider and eat smelt out of our hands. Definetly had the best personality of any ray I've ever had.
