I for one am glad. I am all for expression but there is a limit. I have no problem with looking at neked people, but a fish forum is not the place for it and I have no appreciation for it on MFK.

this is an interesting comment based on what has happened. the mods and Li decided to make a rule regarding avatars. now, since there are more than 26K members on this site does that mean over 13K complaints were made or did a few people just complain very loudly until their demands were met?

I assume by your post on whether or not 13,000 members complained that you assume the site is a democracy where a majority of opinion is the guideline for the rules. It isn't. There are however, out of 26,000 members only a handful of people that can't find an avatar that doesn't involve scantily clad women. That sounds like the majority has spoken. The point here is that no one is offended by a fish avatar, or a picture of Santa Claus, a grapefruit, or Corvette. Some people are offended by scantily clad women. We try and keep the site focused on fish, with some leniency toward non-fish content. If an avatar of a girl is more important to a member than their membership here, they are free to start a provocative girl avatar forum, but it won't be tolerated here.

This thread began because of a problem, it ends with one. The avatar issue is not up for discussion. The rule is posted, stated, and will be enforced. We want a comfortable environment for all who choose to come here.
