I've had the same 5 clowns for the last 10 years in a 90g discus tank. They started out as one inchers and are now mostly 4". I'm unsure of the difference in male/female growth but, one is about 3" which I think is the opposite sex of the others. So, yeah, super slow growers.

That seems awfully slow, wow

well i know my clowns didn't grow much for the year i've had them. water conditions are perfect but i don't think i fed them enough. i do 3 small feedings a day and now they are starting to catch up. they grew slowly before but noticeably faster now. plumping up nicely

DAMN! 10 yrs? it always amazes me when ppl have fish this long, and like 20 yrs. you must have this tank planted with decor, what are the dimensions...

i remember my parents years ago took over my 29 gal i had at their house and stocked it with angels and like some clown loaches...i kept noticing when i would go there in a about a years time and seeing how big those CL's got...

now i got 13 in a 6 ft tank and hope to get them big too! i have a jumbo 6 incher and 12 i bought at about 1" each.

Due to competition that has slowed them. They aren't as slow if you keep a dedicated aquarium like myself...

I got mine in 2005 about an inch long, 1 is now 6" an the other 3 are 7-8"
and wide. But are great fish no matter what there size!
