ay whats the average lenght for a rtb.I read in a book it was 8 feet then i read 0 or 14,what do you guys think.Please no flaming.

There's various subspecies, which all vary in adult size. It also varies with gender, as females generally get larger.
IMO, the average, plain-jain Columbian boa (often called a columbian RT) usually averages around 8-10 ft in females, and males around 6-7. The "true' RTBs (like Surinames, Guyanas can routinely get closer to 13-14 ft, like what you read. And the Hog Island boas are often popular because of their much smaller sizes, probably closer to 7 ft for an adult female.

It really depends on the locales... If we know what locale is yours, then we might be able to tell you, ASSUMING it is not a hybrid or intergrade.

I think the record for the species was 17 and a half feet, I beleive it was a female from either Guyana or Brazil, not sure. But as usual with this sort of thing, it was in the 1800s or early 1900s, and was killed on the spot and most likely measured by a stretched skin, probably innacurately....
Since were talking about locales though, I hope to get a nice Hog Island someday or maybe a true rtb locale, maybe a Peru. An argentine would be cool too.

yeah but in the unlikely case he should get that rare individual (those i guess this is when theyre fed very well, have lots of space and have great genes, and I dont think it will be provided with it in this case) he needs to know before he wants to palm off a large boid.

For average, I would say 6-7 feet for a male Columbian BCI, and 7-8 feet for a female Columbian BCI. BCC, other locales and intergrades are completely different story though.
