Id really reccomend skipping this puffer. I bought one at the LFS they had it labelled as a dwarf puffer. bought him for a 10 gallon planted tank. He was super agressive, and wasnt very fun to keep. If you do get him do plenty of research on them. I was looking for a dwarf/pea puffer and treated him like one because thats what I thought he was when I bought him. He didnt live very long and wasnt very cool.
Blood parrots are amazing. I love my 3 they are very personable and learn to recognize the people that feed them. Theyll hide from people they dont recognize. I will say mine have dug up plants several times. and one of them likes to spit feeders, sand, or pellets into my HOB filter IDK where he got that behavior from but Ive caught him doing it a few times actually about 5 minutes ago.
Something else to consider for a planted tank would be 3-5 large kissing gouramis. Mine are about 5-6" each, love the cover from plants, dont mess with any plants. and again very cool when they recognize you.
Angels are fun in a planted aquarium.
