no biggie, i understand like us, things go south as they get older. just looking for ways to postpone it. i can trt nls again but even like hikari floating and sinking golds he wont take.

Try Hikari Bio-Gold,it's a new formula and although in the past my fish didn't like it,they now love it and their appetite has increased greatly since feeding it.(stay away from feeders)

dont start beef, read first. this was posted on page 1. 4th or 5th post.
im just looking for ways to postpone it, and keep him looking his best.
hes about 9-10" he may not look it, but he is. he takes up a little more half the width of a 75 gal when hes beside it.

I'm not starting anything, I just don't understand why you fail to see when stuff gets old it gets old. Same reason your 70 year old grandpa doesn't play baseball anymore.

I am with Jose
I don’t think there is anything you can do unless you’re a DNA scientist that can manipulate cells to morph the JD into something ells. Here is Jose’s JD and my EBJD

I think they each have a different personality based on their body shape.

after reading what other members have to say about old JDs, and seeing some pics on the internet, i dont think there's anything you can do. it seems like its perfectly normal as these fish get older. and frankly, i think its kinda cool that they change slightly to show theyve been through hell and are still living :headbang2

exactly
the thread name is kind of absurd as well since its not really deformed, gravity just starts taking a toll on weakening core muscles thus the hunch effect ( at least with humans) lol, the same thing will probably happen to your JD my JD and everyone else that keeps JDs
The picture of the one camphilous was thinking of getting looks fine to me,

I think the big problem with this thread is that only a few of the members here have actually kept a single fish for over 10 years. Most of us lose our fish much before the 10year mark whether its due to sickness, aggression, or just selling it. Its clear that most of the fish (at least 90%) that pass through the LFS die from other things that old age. Thats just how the hobby is. Thats how the fish store stays in business. Its not often you see old fish like the one I posted, but just because you haven't seen a lot of big old fish doesn't mean they're deformed.

doesnt it sort of remind you of these guys? would you call these "deformed" too???? :D
