Hi, I got a question regarding how to allow Stingrays to continuously survive, even when I am not home for a week or more. Thanks!

If they are mature they can last without food for a week. Do a large water change before you leave and feed

I'm getting a 4 in stingray around this december from a LFS, because that's when my large tank comes. I'm just worried that in the coming Summer, I may have to leave for a program which may run a week to a month. This will be a Retic stingray.

Retics are hard to keep. I have two and I spent a good while getting them to eat like they do. I would try to at least possibly train someone to feed them while your gone. That's what I do. Like previously stated do a big water change before you leave too.

Not going to be sure if my family will be home, nor is there anybody who is qualified and understands how to keep a stingray in my area.

My advice is skip the retic ray. It will die on you mark my words. Go for a motoro they are the hardiest and a "beginner ray"
