I actually know someone who lost their right ring finger to one because it got stuck between it's body and pectoral fin and wouldn't let go until half the finger was cut!!! Apparantly it's not safe to grab them anywhere :).

Apparantly, that's what the guy said at his presentation at gpasi the other night on doradids. Then he held up his stump of a ring finger he had left and showed a picture of the cat, was about 17-18".
 
I had this a few days ago with my cat about 8 big.
it hurts, they are very strong.
When they are full grown i will never try this again !

I was tagged by a 16 inch one. Moving him in a net and he started jumping so I put my hand over him to keep him in.. He caught me between his pectoral and body, about 3 times in quick succession. It was literally like someone trying to cut my finger off with scissors. I bled all over the place.. Not looking forward to ever having to move them again. They are very cool beasts though
