my guess is stone fish...haven't seen one with that coloring before though

They can change colour to match the env. notice how mines matching itself to the wood. I plan on adding live rock and coral, should make for a more interesting stonefish.

The LFS down the road has one for $15. Been there for 6 months no one will buy it and of course its just a baby. I keep wanting to buy it but the fact it will eat anything I put in there and possibly kill me make for strong cons

They leave non bite sized tank mates alone. I have a three spined frog fish (Batrachus trispinosus) in with him right now and no conflicts so far. then again the two of them are constantly trying to win the "rock look alike contest", the B. trispinosus is almost 1ft aswell.
