i think $500 is reasonable all cleaned up and ready to go but i posted it on craigslist for 3 cause i need to sell it fast.

Not trying to offend here, but in my opinion it's kind of rude to get a great deal from a store and then immediately post it on Craigslist with a 300% greater price to try and make a profit off of it. You can do what you want with it, but... the tank probably should have gone to someone who could have made use of it.

i actually agree with you. when i bought it i had plans to set it up as part of my future breeding factory. but a few unexpected expenses came up and now i need to make rent
but in reality, everything you buy is marked up anyway, thats what allows a business to stay in business.
