yep that show has been on for quite a while now. i've watched several episodes

When does good fishing start? In March? How bout late February?

cool thanks

good fishing is year round. in freshwater.
the only sw spot around here sucks...shore road. Bluefish (4'') start running at around April  by August you can see schools of medium-sized Bluefish (7-12'') working schools of Silversides near the surface in the break zone. I like to take a 2'' spoon with a light, whippy 5 ft rod, light spinning reel, and 6-8lb test, fire the spoon (kastmaster style is best, but on some days a small Eppinger Darevele works better) into the white water (well a little deeper or it snags) and burn it about 5'' under the surface. Roostertails are occasionally effective, but best results come with a Snapper Popper. You cast as far as possible, then BURN it hard across the surface. Problem is you cant feel the fight :(
Sorry, derail

I'm gonna get some of those larger feeder goldfish (the ones that are 50 cents) tomorrow, put them in a little tank, make a rod out of a pen with some thread for fishing line, make a hook out of a staple, and I'm gonna fish!!

What do you recommend for bait?
little pieces of corn like for carp?

uhh youre kidding right?
you could probably catch SOMETHING at Clove Lake in SI or even in Prospect Park.
THEY HAVE BOWFIN!!! :headbang2:

No I'm serious lol
I tried it before. Its challenging cuz goldfish don't bite hard so you have to try to "hook" them as soon as they bite.

I think the lake froze over in Prospect park
but who knows, maybe I'll go try

Goldfish love bread or try froz brine shrimp or mosquito larvae
what are you doing with the Goldfish afterwards??
