how big were those cichlas and dovii?
Hard to say because it's been a while but if I had to guess I'd say Cichla 2' or bigger and the dovii around 18"

If that is the father Dovii he is 36'' I do believe they have removed the Dad and the one in this picture is one of his offspring which I do think was around 18'' when I was last there to visit them. The Cichla were 2' when I donated the Pinima the Tem was 17''. Now I believe there both around 28''. The Tem caught up. The Tem is only a 3yr old. The Pinima is 6yrs old it's the same Cichla in my Avatar.

Here is the thread from the day I took them in http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?309962-Great-News-quot-Pinima-quot

Nice Amazonia display! I like the diversity they have in that tank. I've seen too many displays that just have the basic species in a large tank and some odd ones over to the side in separate ones.

That must be awsome watching your fish grow out in those tanks. They look happy!

I never saw that dovii but I've heard of them getting that big.

if that arapaima is 5' then that is one large silver aro.

They were that big. With the exeption of a few fish everything in that tank is about full size IMO. Next time I go I'll get a shot with my son in the pic for reference.

The arapaima isn't even at the front of the tank. The girl that cleans the tanks said she thinks its closer to 7' but I dont know about that. Also after seeing the Dovii swim close to the glass I would put him at 20"+. BTW I'm 6' and my son is 38" tall for comparison.
