hi mate! yup, I am living in HK~:cool-1:
Pah Fah 6 Gok Lung, ppl in HK is call "6 Gok Lung" :nilly:
my GirlFriend call it "Ball E" the Japanese cartoon...LOL

Hey roisu, I'm in Hong Kong too! It's always nice to know there's some other fishkeeper around here.

If you're looking for axolotls a couple of shops on the Goldfish Market in Mong Kok (Tung Choi Street) have them. They usually go for around $280 - $400 HKD. Check a reptile shop called Urban Jungle. I remember seeing one there...

Very nice axols. I am contemplating getting one. I have a few questions. Not trying to hijack your thread but I figured it was best than starting a new one. How are they to keep? Fairly easy? Anything I should be careful for? Do you suggest it as a first time salamander? And where is the best place to get one? Thanks. I'm loving the albino colors :)

hi girl interrupted~ Yup! feeding axols is fairly easy. my axols now is 6/7inches.. I am using a 24"x18" glass cube to keeping a pair, I feed them with small fishes and fish's grain, becoz they are not the great swimmer to catch fish to eat so I will hold the fish/food in front of them.
My tank's water temp is about 22-24C* (the best temp is below 20C*), pH 6.5-7 is my preference, when pH is lower then pH6, they will become sick and no more motivation. if they've got hurt and missing a leg or tail, they will growback naturally and no need to use chemical stuff, if you see bacteria on their body you pick up the axols into a bowl with very little salt plus warmer water(30C*), (salt vol.about one tea-spoon to 8Liters water) for 5mins, the bacteria can be killed.
Can you buy from your local aquarium shop? I guess there should be the best place, otherwise try to search online shop around your area, so the axols don't need to take long time to arrive from other countries.

Sorry to hijack again, but wow, i'm amazed to see there are a few people from HK here, since it seems a lot of people in HK don't really care enough to look online for info... let alone come on MFK...

And yeah, i've seen a few axoloti for sale in Mong Kok's fish street, although normally only the white version like what you have... except for one time, when i saw one that was pure white, with a bright red "gill" area, if thats what it is... looked amazing, but too bad i wasn't prepared to pay what they were asking for since it was easily double what they normally go for in HK...
