Next picture. Remember, explain why the fish is what it is.

to answer your ? as stated it is a fish because it lives in the water has scales and gills. hope that helps you out, or am i way off

I guess that this is Orangespotted Sunfish because it has wide white edge on the ear.

Is it L. humilis? It seems to have a bit of a spotted pattern and has the margin on its "ear." It also looks like there might be a spot in the ear margin though, so I have some doubts about my guess, but if no one else will take a stab at it, I will.

Edit: Looks like MN beat me...

im kind of distracted right now, but is it Lepomis megalotis peltastes?
sorry if its inaccurate, im watching rocky :D

Actually, as soon as I posted, I ran across a picture of a northern longear that looks very similar to this fish and was about to revise my guess. I didn't think the mottling on the cheek looked right for an orangespot, but I threw that guess out anyway. I think you may be right, or at least close

Which Rocky? Personally I like #4 the best. Whenever your done perhaps you can explain what makes you think its a Lepomis megalotis?
