Hello, im most likely going to greatly regret this but here it goes. To the one individual who has been giving out the site for dog bite statistics. i have found flaws in the site. for one the site seems to be bent on blaming pits and other so called dangerous breeds of dogs for dog bites. The statistic that 74% of dog bites are committed by pits and rottweilers is grossly biased and wrong. On the site under pit myths it say most people can't identify pits is a falsity. I have to disagree with that. Most people can't identify a pit. The term "pitbull" comonly covers three breeds. 1. american pit bull terrier 2. American Staffordshire terrier And the staffordshire bull terrier. I work at an animal shelter and can say from first hand experience people can't identify dog breeds. We had a purebred dogo argentino who a woman called a lab doberman mix. We have also had people call jack Russel mixes a pure bred jack Russel. My own dog ,who is a mutt, was called a min pin. On this site it misrepresent the original purpose of several breeds the presa canrio was not originally a fighting dog.It is a breed whose original purpose was an estate guard, it was bred to chase and if necessary attack intruders. It does have a high incidence of dog aggressive but so do may terriers. The cane corso was a italian cattle drover. It was after these jobs became obsolete that many lowbrow individual turned the breeds to dog fighting pit included. Now to the OP i think it was a bad title choice, should been called dogs with nervous or shy temperaments around babies but hey you found the dog a good home. just my two cents now lets all just stop the hate mongering and arguments and get back to talking bout fish. please subjects like this in my opinion stir up bad blood between people. will someone please close this thread
