Baby Albino Pac-Man Frog

I am not saying you are totally wrong. Mice are included in their diet. Just not too many of them. Sorry, if I sounded snotty in my earlier post. Just trying to give this guy some accurate information on keeping a pacman frog. As long as they eat a mouse every 2 weeks or so, I dont see a problem with it.

a mouse should be a meal like on a holiday for the frog.. i agree with Ztrip saying they DEF will shorten the lifespan and activity. I aslo agree with everyone elss points that go against Ztrip... Too many different pros and cons with these frogs.. now u know why i stick to fish!

The key here, folks, is balance. I agree with Z-trip in that pacmans shouldn't be fed exclusively mice, but in the same token, not exclusively insects either. Just like sav monitors and other lizards, these animals are opportunists in the wild and won't hesitate to gobble up anything that will fit in their mouths. However, these animals don't know when their next meal will be (which could be a week or more at a time). In captivity, they're fed more routinely and thus, more care needs to be taken to make sure they don't get too much or too little of a particular food item. I have seen too many pacmans (and others, too, including dumpy's and pyxies) that are so obese that the folds of fat cover their eyes. So variety, variety, variety...and like Smmfish suggested, maybe just one mouse every week or two is fine.

thought you didnt feed them too often? suppose it depends on the meal

I'm not sure who you were referring to, but I'll just cite what I would feed my pacman if I decided to own one.

Baby (less than 1") = crickets daily

juv. (between 1-3") = crickets every other day with a large pinky/sm fuzzy every 2 weeks

sub-adult to adult (3" plus) = crickets (and other active insects) every other day with a lg fuzzy/sm mouse every 2 weeks

Some people even give their Pacmans the occasional small snake, lizard or frog they may find in the yard.

We have had one for 2 years . it hardly ever moves infact only for a bath or if it craps where it was sat., even if we provided insects it will still sit there waiting for the prey to come to it . mice are bad if there the only thing provided. But you can feed them bits of lean meat and large insects. in the wild they would eat mice, infact they would eat anything that was small enough and stupid enough the walk close enough to its mouth

how big does he have to be before i can feed him a pinky?

I'd say his mouth needs to be wide enough to accept the pinky completely sideways. (length of pinky = width of frog's mouth)
